Jagowari NEW - 22/08/2010

Dear All,

Last Sunday was an Interleague ‘catch-up’ day to make up for a rained off match some months back. Edwin managed to win us a reduced ‘rain check’ price for the event that was much appreciated. Tee Set took on the fired up Sentul Swingers and fought hard to match their competitors but alas did not come out on top at the end of the day. Result was a 6 – 4 win to the Swingers. Nevertheless there were some bright spots with Peter Reichlmeier finally finding some form, with Geoff Thwaites providing strong support. Peter by the way took out longest drive for the B flight and Gina Blackwell for the ladies. In a singles match Dave Tarcy started ugly but never gave up, managing to come back from 5 holes down with 6 to play and miraculously take the game on the final hole. A great captain’s dig to prove it’s never over until the fat lady sings. Well done Dave. Thanks to Matt and Kees for organizing Interleague, and to Jack for the early Sunday morning heart starters.

With the coming of improved varieties of grasses to Jags the nature of the course is changing somewhat and a ball in the rough is now a tricky predicament. Getting out is not easy but on the positive side there is now a barrier to a slowly rolling ball disappearing off the fairway OB or into a hazard. I’m sure the local second hand ball selling industry has suffered loses as a result. As expected there were some pretty nasty scores tabled to secretary Liza at the end of the round. Craig Binks was almost embarrassed to take the money for wining low gross with a 92. This was good enough to also win his match play with Jean Zachery 5 & 4. Keith Miller almost lost his low nett prize to Peter Reichlmeier because he took his score card with him to the locker room. Please remember to turn in your card to Liza before disappearing for a shower. Other results below:

Low Gross with 92 to Craig Binks. Must be taking lessons again
Low Nett to Keith Miller with a 71. Also had a birdie on #11
1st Birdie to Amediah Barwick on hole #16. Starting playing after already conceding her match play
1st Sandy to Gina Blackwell. The work was done by Geoff on #5 but Gina took the money on his behalf
1st par > 30 to Cony on hole #3
Most Improved with 10 was not surprisingly Dave Tarcy who finished with a couple of pars and a birdie after a woeful start.
Most strokes on a hole to Jason Clarkson and Martin Zachery who carded an 11
Skirts. Not many this week so maybe the novelty of the new pink skirt is wearing thin. Harry Hill and Marshall Jones only.

New comers to welcome. Clive Needman, Douglas M’Quatver, Mike Taylor, Su and Marshal Jones.
Welcome back were Cony, Jason Clarkson, Peter Reichlmeier, Dave Tarcy, Craig Binks and Shawn Berg.

For this Sunday August 29th Wina has graciously booked Tee Set at the Jababeka course in Cikarang Baru for 11AM tee time. The green fee is RP660K with buka puasa dinner also thrown in. If you need transport let me know so we can organize car pooling. For starters John Durham is in the Kuningan area and would like a lift. Remember to get into the left lane well before Cikampek toll km post 30 otherwise you’ll get stuck on the wrong side of the road divider.

See ya Sunday.

Regards,
Ric
